Example

Paula has an important university exam coming up that will decide her final overall grade. Paula has noticed that she has become extremely irritable with others and is preoccupied with catastrophic thoughts (i.e., “If I fail this exam then my life is over”). Paula reveals that these thoughts keep her awake at night and that she has lost interest in food and other previously enjoyed activities. Paula reveals she worries about what will be on the exam script and what will happen to her if she fails.

Teaching Staff:

To provide clinical support and treatment to help teaching staff (lecturers) combat their mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, procrastinating, stress, perfectionism, assertiveness, sleep dysregulation, panic, OCD, bullying, eating disorders, addictions, fear of failure, or phobias.

Example

Ryan highlights the anxiety he is experiencing is associated with fears that he is incompetent/not good enough in his new role as associate lecturer. Ryan reveals that he is experiencing intense elements of imposter syndrome which have resulted in him contemplating whether to leave his job role. Ryan highlights he worries constantly that he will be “found out” and believes he is a “fraud”.

“My treatment was fundamental in helping me to accept that thoughts are simply thoughts and only as powerful as the strength I give to them. Without this support, my life would have looked very different.”
